Engineering an Award-Winning Culture

Monday, October 26th
4:00pm-5:00pm EDT

About the Session

In this session, FOXXSTEM will share the principles behind its recognition as one of the Washington, DC region’s best places to work and how those principles are reflected in its tagline: “Building People. Elevating Communities. Engineering Solutions.” The order is intentional. Before a company can deliver projects or strengthen communities, it must first invest in the people doing the work.

Participants will learn how FOXXSTEM listens to employees, understands their career goals, and aligns them with opportunities for growth. The session will explore how leaders can create an environment where employees feel comfortable sharing ideas, challenging assumptions, and recommending improvements. It will also address the importance of knowing employees as individuals, including their interests, families, and goals outside of work, when they choose to share them.

This session will offer scalable ideas that firms of any size can use to strengthen trust, engagement, retention, and performance. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how intentional leadership, genuine listening, and investment can turn company values into daily behaviors and a workplace into a community where people choose to stay, contribute, and grow.
