Risk Management Is a Skill: Practicing Professional Judgment Through Real-World Project Scenarios

Monday, October 26th
10:30am-11:30am EDT

About the Session

This session will look at common issues that arise during design and construction that can create disproportionate risk for engineering firms. Through practical project scenarios, we will consider how these issues develop, why they are often difficult to recognize in real time, and how firms can help their people slow down, ask better questions, document key decisions, and seek help earlier. The discussion will focus less on avoiding risk and more on building habits, awareness, and communication practices that help engineering teams recognize when ordinary project issues are becoming business risks.
