About the Session

A Spotlight on the Firm of the Future Study on Workforce

What do young engineering professionals really want from their consulting careers—and what will make them stay with your firm?

This session combines rich demographic data on the industry’s workforce with new insights from the new Firm of the Future study on workforce. The research examines how many engineers are graduating, how many are retiring, and how many are leaving the U.S. due to immigration challenges. It also draws on a national survey of nearly 2,000 individuals—including engineers, engineering students, and non-engineers of all ages across the industry—alongside in-depth interviews with early career and senior professionals.

We’ll explore how younger engineers view career growth, purpose, values, mentorship, leadership, and firm culture—and how those expectations are evolving compared to their senior peers. Attendees will come away with actionable strategies to help firms of all sizes attract, engage, and retain the workforce of the future.
