Principal, Director of Operations
JQOL

2025 YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AWARD

Dylan Seesman joined Indianapolis-based JQOL in 2020 to help launch its structural engineering practice. Rising to Principal and Director of Operations in under five years, he guided the firm onto the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Fast 25 in 2025—growing annual revenue six-fold to $10 million, expanding headcount to more than 50, and opening offices in Kentucky and Georgia.

Under Dylan’s leadership, JQOL served as structural engineer of record for some of the most impactful projects in the Midwest, including two of Indiana’s largest school referendums: the $285 million Washington Township Schools program (13 major projects) and over 60% of the $500 million+ Indianapolis Public Schools Rebuilding Stronger initiative. The firm has further committed to the successfully delivered projects such as the Frederick Douglass Family Center, Indy Parks & Recreation’s largest facility to date, and six libraries across three states in just four years, including the award-winning Parkland Branch Library addition and Renovation in Louisville, KY.

Beyond the office, Dylan founded the Indiana Structural Engineering Association Young Members Group—now 50 + active members—and drives mentorship and scholarships through the Minority Engineering Program of Indianapolis. He serves on the board of NOMA Indiana and as the Vice Chair for the United Way of Central Indiana Facilities Maintenance Fund Committee, has assisted in collaboration for building-code legislation, and was named to Purdue Engineering’s 38 by 38 class of 2025.

Dylan’s rapid professional growth, coupled with his volunteer leadership, underscores his commitment to stronger, safer communities.

I would like to thank my parents, Priscilla and Randy Seesman, for being great examples of leadership and hard work for me throughout my life. My wife Tara, for being my biggest supporter, and for pushing me to grow as a person to better show up for those around me. Finally I would like to thank all of my colleagues for their support and for pushing me to grow and learn every day, but most notably Jarvis, who gave me an opportunity to do something bigger than myself and for transforming my life and setting me on a path that I can be proud of every single day.
