Mugdha Tipnis is a Senior Vice President and the Transportation Business Leader for WSP’s Mid-Atlantic South region. With over 24 years of experience leading transportation and infrastructure projects, Mugdha applies her deep engineering expertise to deliver future-focused solutions to complex transportation challenges.
A strong collaborator with clients, her integrated service experience includes passionately leading business service delivery with a focus on Clients, Expertise, People & Culture, and Operational Excellence. She creates corporate strategies for new business growth, manages engineering operations, oversees program management, and fosters relationships with key regional transportation clients. Mugdha consistently drives operational performance and development aligned with business goals, develops creative capture plans, positions teams to deliver on transformational projects, and provides responsive client-facing stewardship of engineering design and construction management contracts.
She is also a champion of continuing education and professional development, women’s leadership, and inclusion and belonging programs, while mentoring WSP staff to grow, learn, and engage.
Mugdha has held leadership positions with the American Council of Engineering Companies of Metropolitan Washington (ACEC/MW), the ACEC National Transportation Steering Committee, and the Planning Cabinet. In 2022, she was honored with the WTS-DC Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award for her contributions to advancing diversity in the transportation industry, including empowering underserved young women, mentoring early-career professionals, and guiding the development of emerging leaders.
Mugdha holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Electronics from Pune University, India, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
