Nicolas Tiburzi

Senior Project Manager
SIMCO Technologies

Throughout his career, Nicolas Tiburzi has developed an extensive expertise in concrete materials behavior, including advanced analytical and experimental techniques for the characterization of sound and degraded cementitious systems, such as those exposed to sulfate attack, physical salt attack, delayed ettringite formation, alkali-silica reaction, reinforcement corrosion, and cracking induced by volume changes. He combines material analyses and modeling to evaluate and help extend the service-life of reinforced concrete structures in accordance with performance requirements. Dr. Tiburzi also assists asset managers, consultants, and contractors in reviewing and developing project specifications, testing and monitoring programs, and provides construction support for infrastructure projects.

Concrete Infrastructure Reimagined: Advanced Strategies for Extended Service Life

Featuring Eric Ouellet, Nicolas Tiburzi at 10:15 AM on Tuesday, October 7th.

Aimed at owners, engineers and contractors, this presentation introduces a scientifically grounded approach to extending the service life of concrete infrastructure by analyzing key degradation mechanisms like corrosion and alkali-silica reaction. It showcases advanced modeling techniques and SIMCO’s analytical tools to optimize repair strategies for both new and existing structures. Attendees will discover innovative methods…
