2025 COLLEGE OF FELLOWS INDUCTEE

“ACEC has been such a meaningful part of my professional and personal life. Being inducted into the College of Fellows acknowledges the commitment to community, industry and friends. I am honored to be part of such a prestigious crowd.”

Steven Gravlin is the Vice President of Michael Baker International overseeing the Michigan Operation, with strategic responsibilities through the Great Lakes Region. His formative years as an engineer were working for the Macomb County Road Commission in the mid 1990’s leading the highway design and survey group. He envisioned and managed the transition form hand drawings to a CADD environment while there and that success has been a droving force for advancing technology in the civil engineering industry ever since.

He has served on the American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan (ACEC/M) Board of Directors, and previously served as, President elect, Vice President, and President of the Michigan Member Organization. Steve also served on the ACEC National Transportation Steering Committee and the Digital Delivery subcommittee. He currently serves on the Transportation, the Risk Management Committee, the Market Intelligence Committee, and the Workforce Development Committee. He chairs the Past Presidents committee in Michigan.

Two different Governors appointed Steve to serve on the State of Michigan Licensing Board for Professional Surveyors. A third Governor appointed Steve to Michigan’s climate change work group relating to transportation.

Steve is regularly active in volunteer organizations like Bridges to Prosperity and the Rotary Club. He is married with two boys and two lovely grandchildren.
