As Principal/Vice President and Project Delivery Director for Freese and Nichols, Jim Heydorn leads the firm’s enterprise strategy for strengthening project delivery and advancing operational excellence. He has helped build and mature the firm’s Project Delivery Office, with a focus on project management development, risk management, quality improvement, consistent project delivery practices, and continuous improvement.
Drawing on leadership experience spanning project management, program management, operations, and client service, Jim has led major infrastructure projects and organizational improvement initiatives throughout his career. He now works across operations and corporate functions to translate lessons learned, performance data, and practitioner feedback into practical, scalable improvements.
His work addresses a challenge shared across the AEC industry: improving project performance and organizational consistency while developing project managers and building the capabilities needed to support long-term growth.
